Without a doubt, when it comes to longevity and raw talent, there are few more accomplished examples of indie-hop than Atmosphere. Representing the bootstrapping rapper element for well over a decade, "Slug" (the MC) and "Ant" (the DJ) hammer out deep beats and reflective numbers from a road-honed fusion of anything live, sampled, or spun.

Impressive? Definitely.

Unprecedented? Hell no. Their hometown of Minneapolis is a destination famous for producing underground hip hop torchbearers. Perhaps you've heard of Brother Ali and Young Son. Straight outta the Twin Cities.

Aiding Atmosphere in their dogged pursuit of crowd gratification are freestyle champ Eyedea and his DJ, Abilities, who will no doubt demonstrate their respective eponymous aptitudes. If you're the only person not bouncing at this show, people are going to look at you funny.
