  • There's a Greezy Wheels-sponsored meeting to discuss returning KUT vets Paul Ray and Larry Monroe to full-time status. Meanwhile, Joe Gross gets to know their replacement, Matt Reilly.
  • Psych-soul outfit T-Bird & the Breaks return to Austin next week to play four hometown shows, the first of which will be at the Mohawk tonight. Check out his recent Daytrotter Session here.
  • The Dell Lounge and ACL are back again with their Sound and the Jury contest, which offers bands a chance to use their fans to earn a slot at the festival in October.
  • It's official: the University of Texas Press will publish the The Austin Chronicle Music Anthology 1981-2010, co-edited by Doug Freeman Austin Powell.
  • Aly Tadros will celebrate the release of her album, Things Worth Keeping, at the Hideout Theater on August 22. The show will be a benefit for The Care Communities.
  • Hot Club of Cowtown will be here August 21 at the Continental Club to support their album Wishful Thinking.
