Austinist Presents: The Sword x 2 [Mohawk, August 28 & 29]

Austinist Presents The Sword x 2
August 28 & 29
The Mohawk (912 Red River)
w/ Rat King, Pack of Wolves & More, 9 p.m., $15
[info] | [tickets]
Austin's The Sword have been busy. In 2008, after the release of Gods of the Earth (Kemado) the band toured extensively with bands like Machine Head, Lamb of God and Clutch. They also did dozens of dates with Metallica, supported them on the 2008 European Vacation Tour. In November, they released a two-disc box set including Age of Winters (their debut) and Gods of the Earth and licensed "The Black River" for Guitar Hero.

Through all of this, they've played only a few Austin shows, and if locals have ached for their legendary live show, they've had to sit in huge arenas.

This summer, however, The Sword returns to Austin with nothing less than fan favors, playing Houston's Free Press Fest and two nights at the Mohawk right here in Austin.

Austinist is proud to present both nights of The Sword, taking place August 28 and 29 with supporting acts Rat King, Pack of Wolves (on the 28th), Woodgrain and Fingaar Bangaar (the 29th). Fill out the form for a chance to win tickets and stay tuned, we'll be offering another chance or two closer to the date.
