Longhorns To Hold Two Open Practices

After a seemingly endless hiatus, marked by the memory of a successful yet dissatisfactory conclusion to the 2008 campaign, football is once again in the air. Big 12 media days are wrapping up in Irving, training camps are on the cusp of commencing on campuses throughout the Midwest, and Texas officials are extending multiple opportunities for fans to catch a preview of the Longhorns prior to the September 5 home opener.

The Longhorn football team will be holding open practices on August 12 and 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. each evening at Frank Denius Field at the corner of 26th and Red River. The team will also be holding its annual Fan Appreciation Day on August 22 at Gregory Gym, during which players and coaches will be available for autographs and photo ops.

The school also announced last week the official kickoff time of this season’s home opener to be 6 p.m., facilitating the commencement of the official countdown.
