"Nobody ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public" said H.L. Mencken, and The Onion is betting on it. With their first Fame Whores competition tonight at The Mohawk, they are inviting participants to display their talents, "dubious or otherwise" in front of a crowd and a panel of judges.

Unsure what your potential, secret talent might be? The Mohawk runs down a few suggestions: "Breathe fire, slam Sparks, eat pepperspray, freestyle flow, do the splits, tell jack-o jokes," etc. What are jack-o jokes?

The judging panel will consist of Mohawk Booker Rosa Madriz , funnyman Chris Trew, and Decider editor Sean O'Neal. Together, they will form the perfect Jackson-Abdul-Cowell trifecta needed to judge a talent contest.

To join in on the (possibly excruciating) fun, come to the Mohawk and sign up at 8pm. You'll have five minutes to impress the judges with your skills. Winners will move up to two more(!) qualifying rounds, both in August. The winner is awarded with an appearance at the Fun Fun Fun Fest comedy stage and a profile in The Onion.
