Aggie Plan to Rob Own Locker Room and Blame Longhorns Backfires

It turns out the mastermind behind the Great Aggie Locker Room Caper isn't a Longhorn after all.

Police used surveillance tape to nab the person who broke into the Texas A&M football complex this week, stealing equipment and leaving behind the message, "The Eyes of Texas Are Upon You" written in athletic tape.

Texas A&M University police declined to identify the culprit, saying only that the perpetrator was connected to Texas A&M in some way and acted alone.

"It was a personal issue that the person chose to act out in an inappropriate manner," Schneider said, added that the person was upset over some set of circumstances. No charges will be filed in the case.

Eight sets of football pads and name plates from lockers were stolen. There were no signs of forced entry, so police knew the person involved had access to the facility via a keypad entry code.

Besides stolen property, powder was spread across the room and athletic tape was used to leave behind the UT logo and the first line of the UT alma mater.

I'm an Aggie (undergrad) and a Longhorn (grad school) and I can tell you that this does not surprise me in the least. Aggies have been doing stupid things since 1876, hell Perry does something stupid each week. This event, though, is not indicative of the whole population. There are really great Aggies out there. Like me, they just keep a low profile and show no school spirit. I hope this poor excuse for a thief gets ridiculed to no end.

I went to A&M... and i'm the least proud member of the fighting texas aggie class of 2008.

We're sooo terrible. At everything. Even crime aparently.

Can I have a do over on my college choice.

The stereo-types are true, we're awful. Lance uppercut, you're just... just terrible.

    Gig 'Em!!! Ehhh Whooop!

The face carving girl attended Blinn College and never attended Texas A&M. Should I assume the racist comments by your football player (Burnette) on his Facebook profile last year are indicative of all Longhorns? Are the crimes committed by Longhorn football players the basis for assuming a pattern among the entirety of the University of Texas? It's easy to point out the shortcomings of a few though the majority of people at both schools are among the best and brightest. However, when you make comments about how all 50,000 Aggies are stupid, you've managed to label yourself as an imbecile in impressively few words.

Come on folks, give the poor guy a break. It was someone connected to the Fightin' Texas Aggie Athletic program and they managed to spell all the words correctly - unlike Grape Ape - so that's gotta count for something!

Grape Ape - you might want to re-visit T-sip English 101. It's actually spelled "maroon" and "pick up" is one word when you're referring to a pickup truck. Obviously it wasn't you who broke in to the locker room.

  • davetx

I think in this case, the color actually is moroon.

  • Grape Ape

Did they drive away in their moroon or white pick up too? What is it with that place? I know of one or two normal people from there, the rest just live up to the stereotype.

    Or...

two people at a university of about 50,000 stupid students.

Haven't we heard this tale before -- the young Republican aggie who claimed an Obama supporter mugged her and carved into her face. Of course, a made up story by the aggie McCain volunteeer to generate negative press for Obama. A pattern amoung aggies?

  • heyzeus

Or just two stupid people at a university of about 50,000 students?
