Music News & Notes: Minor Mishaps, Amy Cook & More
- Austin-based artist and musician Amy Cook is the subject of a new documentary called Amy Cook: The Spaces In Between, which will be released and aired July 22nd through August 21 on the Documentary Channel. The film features the songwriter's last tour, her upcoming album (produced by Alejandro Escovedo) and her relationship with hotelier Liz Lambert.
- The Minor Mishap Marching Band has three gigs in coming weeks. Check them out at The Hole in the Wall tomorrow night, The Continental Club on July 27 (6 p.m.), and at Hole the in the Wall again on August 1 with Sick's Pack. Not sure what to expect? Check out "Besh O Drom" on YouTube.
- Austin's The Daze will be featuring in the upcoming film Bandslam, set for release on August 14 and starring Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical) and Alyson Michalka (Phil of the Future), Gaelan Connell (Chocolat), Scott Porter (Speed Racer) and Lisa Kudrow. Their upcoming release, Straightjacket Hymns, is due August 27.
