- Todd V. Wolfson, a local photographer known for his work with Austin bands, has been sidelined after a bicycle wreck. Help support him at a benefit concert on September 9 at Antone's.
- Better Than the Van is a locally-based venture that connects traveling bands hospitable hosts. They'll be talking about their Web site and more at Beerland on July 30. The happy hour will provide a limited supply of free Lone Star and free swag, so arrive on time (7 p.m.)
- There's a Save Austin Music meeting tonight at 7 p.m. If you can't attend physically at 3708 Woodbury Dr. (behind Ruta Maya & Penn Field, S. Congress & Ben White), join them online here.
- The schedule for this year's Austin City Limits festival is out.
- Sign up now for The Onion's Fame Whores competition. Winners of September's grand finale will win an Instant Fame Whore Package that includes a walk-on spot on the comedy stage of this year's Fun Fun Fun Fest plus two VIP passes, as well as a profile in The Onion. First round is July 27 at the Mohawk (where else).

Last Week Around the -ISTs
