Domy Books is offering forty percent off selected books, DVDs, zines, and toys through July 24th. As it does periodically, ART on 5th will be hosting a Vintage Poster Sale. Aimed at serious collectors (with serious wallets), it is still fun to come see an impressive collection of original, vintage posters. This weekends sale runs from Friday through Sunday and will feature hundreds of movie posters.
On Saturday, the Mexic-Arte Museum continues its celebration of its twenty-fifth anniversary with a talk by Sylvia Orozco, the museum's founder and executive director. She will talk about the museum's beginnings and discuss highlights from their twenty-five years. The talk begins at 2pm.
On Sunday, BiRDHOUSE Gallery is throwing a BBQ with food, beer, and art. The party will kick off around 2pm. Five dollar raffle tickets will be sold for a chance to win art by Joshua Saunders, Clayton Robert Kalman, Jasmine Whitus, and many others.
