Garrido Sentenced to Four Days in Jail for Drunk Driving
Texas baseball coach Augie Garrido was sentenced to four days in jail and fined $500 for his drunk-driving conviction back in February, reports the Statesman.
The 70-year-old Garrido pleaded guilty to drunken driving on Feb. 2. He was stopped at 1 a.m. Jan. 17 driving west on Sixth Street without the headlights of his Porsche Cayenne on. Following a sobriety test, Garrido told the officer he had five glasses of wine and was intoxicated, according to police reports.
The University of Texas suspended Garrido for the first four games of the 2009 season. The Longhorns finished the year with a spot in the College World Series finals before losing in the championship game to LSU.
