Austin Fashion Week - Thursday's Events

Austin Fashion Week continues with the most events yet! Check out the full calendar for many other stylish celebrations, in the mean time, here are a few of today's highlights:


Recent UT Fashion Design grad Robin Hunneycutt will be at Wish (2322 Guadalupe) from 2pm to 6pm showing her bridal and casual lines. DJ Tummy Toast will be spinning and Wish will be whipping together drinks and snacks.

Etsy Austin is hosting Party Hops at various venues around town. Between 3pm and 8pm, Etsy Austin designers will be showing and selling some of their work. Visit their full calendar for specific locations and information about other Etsy Austin events taking place for Fashion Week. Sponsored by Dripping Springs Vodka and Paula's Texas Orange, event organizers are encouraging ride-sharing and of course sober driving between parties. 5% of Etsy Austin's proceeds from Fashion Week are being donated to Family Eldercare who will provide fans and ACs to the elderly and disabled.

Many boutiques in the 2nd Street Shopping District will be participating in a Block Party from 6pm to 9pm. Most shops are hosting designers, scheduling music, and providing refreshments. Keep an eye out for Fashion Week sale specials! Check out the event calendar for specifics on participating businesses and parking information.

Yelp Austin and The Mohawk (912 Red River) are hosting Yelp's Style Explosion from 7pm to 11pm. The party will feature fashion, music, and style by Ann Kelso and CitySpa. VIP hour is from 7-8pm, with general admission after 8pm. You must RSVP to attend by emailing austin[at]yelp[dot]com

Austin Handmade (2009 South First St.) is celebrating its grand re-opening with a fashion show and music by Lost Werks and DJ Beef Eigler. Designer Robbie Kaye Dodson of Parsimony will be showing her collection of chic and classic women's fashions. Sugar Mamma's Bakeshop will provide sweet treats and Sweet Leaf Tea and Treaty Oak Platinum Rum will provide libations. Guests are invited to test out their craft skills with a few DIY projects and the Wondercraft crew will be on hand to teach make and take projects. Austin Handmade is offering discounts and giveaways from local designers and the TXRD Lonestar Rollergirls.
