Austin Fashion Week - Monday's Events
Two 2nd Street Shopping District locations are hosting jewelry trunk shows. All week long, Shiki will be showcasing work by Double Happiness. Designed by Stephanie Wells, the earthy and lux pieces will be on discount all week from 11am to 7pm at 225 West 2nd Street. Today and tomorrow Studio 563 is hosting a Discount Jewelry Shopping Day featuring the work of Circle of Stones Jewelry. New designs will be shown and there will be door prizes from 3pm until 8pm at 202 Colorado Street.
This evening, Thomas Saverio Salon & Spa will hosts accessory designer Cindy Chuang of Sweet Potato Island. Chuang’s bold, custom made clutches will be on display and paired with loads of music, wine, and appetizers. The event's Primping, Purses, and Pictures runs from 4pm to 8pm at 5416 Parkcrest, Suite 800.
At 5:30pm, Waterstone Aesthetics (3016 Guadalupe) will be offering simple classes on how to style hair like a professional. Quick lessons will be given on blow drying, flat ironing, make up, curling irons, updos and more. The salon will also be showcasing jewelry by Kerri Lawnsby. Those interested can RSVP for the free event.
To celebrate Fashion Week, SoLa is holding a raffle. At both the boutique's Triangle (815 W. 47th) and South Lamar (2005 S. Lamar) locations you can register to win two tickets to the Blondie, Pat Benatar, and Donnas show at Austin Music Hall, as well as a $50 SoLa gift certificate redeemable on pieces from the featured designer at each store. The drawing will be held Saturday, the 18th at 6pm with refreshments on hand. Remember - you must be present to win!
For those interested in barely-there fashion, Le Rouge (3405 N IH 35) is hosting a "Pole Goddess" instructional class from 8:30 - 10pm tonight. Previous dance experience is not required for the "Sweets, Treats, and a little Ohh La La" event and pole class.
