The Peacock Closes Its Doors Tonight

Owners of The Peacock, the intimate eastside lounge that opened across the street from the Pedernales Lofts four years ago, announced today that they will closing their doors after tonight, citing issues with renewing their lease and obtaining permits to expand the space.

The bar enjoyed a bustling business for the better half of its existence, from hosting absinthe tastings to magazine launch parties (remember the short-lived BOX Magazine?) and festival holiday soirees, but the patronage there seemed to diminish significantly after they were forced to dismantle the unpermitted outdoor patio a few years back.

From The Peacock:

After four years, The Peacock is closing tonight. We have not been able to get the proper permits to rebuild our deck and the landlord will not renegotiate our lease. We are hoping that The Peacock will reopen soon under new ownership. So, please come by tonight to celebrate our final night and say farewell.

Thank you for your patronage and support over the past years.

If there is a garage sale, it will be in three to four weeks. I'm trying to sell the furniture and equipment to whomever leases the space.
