Free Show at the Mohawk: Indian Jewelry, Caddywhompus, more

Indian Jewelry, more at The Mohawk
Friday, July 3
The Mohawk (912 Red River)
Free, All Ages, Doors at 9pm

We've got a big bill tonight at the Mohawk full of bands with nada in the way of a cover charge. Hot dog!

Noise band Indian Jewelry will bring their experimental edge to the stage before embarking on a summer tour that mostly includes California dates. Urban dictionary defines "caddywhompus" as "ass-backwards" amongst other things, but the band define themselves as an "experimental noise/spazz-pop duo consisting of Sean Hart and Chris Rehm," adding, "It's more than a band, it's a duo." True. They've just released their debut EPs, which takes thrash, throws in some noise pop and lets the mixture set in.

The guttural folk of Cartright will also grace the stage, as will the inescapably Joy Division-indebted The Dead Space.
