Show Preview: Moonlight Towers, Service Industry at Continental Club

There's something about Moonlight Towers that begs kneejerk comparison to the OK Gos, Dexter Freebishes, and-dare we say-Ryan Adamses of this world, but there's something else, something much deeper and more subtle that turns side stage and winks in our direction, reminding us that there's a either Gram Parsons or Sugar playing on the phono back home. Suffice it to say, there's too many snooty feathers in a tussle in this scene rife with pop avoidance. Even solid, classic, guitar-based gloss-e.g. the shit we grew up on-such as MT purvey, is probably no stranger to the current browbeating milieu, both nationally and Austin-ally. Give those tongue-clucking twats a metaphorical skinny-jeans wedgie and saunter proudly to the door of The Continental Club tonight to get your Big Pop fix right in the kisser. Sweetening the deal are fellow locals The Service Industry-also a tad Mould-y-who cleave to a wholesome diversity of sound that inform their sometimes gleeful, sometimes extravagantly moody rock anthems.
