Preview: The Comedy of Errors at The Curtain Theatre [Theater]

comedy_of_errors_poster.jpg Austin Shakespeare presents its inaugural "Young Shakespeare" production The Comedy of Errors from tonight through Sunday at the Curtain Theatre. Directed this year by U.K. theatre professional Matt Radford, Young Shakespeare offers students ages 11 to 18 intensive Shakespeare training and the chance to run and perform in a professional production to be performed at Richard Garriott’s Elizabethan replica theatre.

Comedy is Shakespeare at his farcical best. Shipwrecks, two sets of twins, love on the rocks, long-lost relatives and a few lusty wenches - what more could one ask for? The cast features Rosalind Faires, Savannah Finger, Ciara Flynn, Dillon Marrs, Katie Pocock, and Dallas Emerson.

"The Comedy of Errors will transport audiences from the idyllic shores of Lake Austin to the dockside of exotic and disreputable Ephesus," said Director Matt Radford, “…a place of uneasy enchantment in which travelers might lose not only their wallets but their very identities."

The Comedy of Errors runs Thurs-Sun, June 25-28 at The Curtain Theatre: June 25 at 8 p.m. (Preview), June 26 at 8 p.m., June 27 at 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., June 28 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
