Anthony Ranaudo (11-3, 2.87 ERA, 155 strikeouts) will get the start for LSU, while Cole Green (5-3, 3.07 ERA, 84 strikeouts) will start for Texas. In his previous two starts at this year's CWS, Green has a 3.46 ERA over 13 innings, with 14 hits, four walks, and 14 strikeouts.
In reaching the final, both Texas and LSU have put up 50 victories or more this season. The Longhorns are going after their seventh CWS title, while the Tigers are after No. 6.
After a 7-6 LSU victory in 11 innings on Monday, Texas answered with a standout pitching performance by freshman Taylor Jungmann for a 5-1 win last night.
It was Jungmann's first complete game of the season and the first at the CWS since 2006. He allowed five hits, walked two, and struck out nine as he handed LSU their first loss since May 20. In doing so, Jungmann became the tenth pitcher to notch three victories at a single College World Series.
Texas came into Omaha with the reputation of a small-ball team, but the Longhorns have turned on the power over the last 10 days. In five CWS games, Texas has hit 13 home runs, a third as many as they hit all season prior to Omaha. Designated hitter Russell Moldenhauer, who didn't have a home run all season until the CWS, has four homers in the last five games.

Woo hoo!
What an AWESOME series.
Let's do it again next year!
Geaux Tigers!
