The Invincible Czars, from catchy name to daunting stage presence, are a rare breed. They bring bizarre, but methodical math-rock heavily influenced by classical music, polka, and even some country and jazz. Self-described as "a rock soundtrack to a sci-fi film with interruptions by a myriad of genres," we couldn't agree more. Though many in the prog-rock grouping attempt to grab an audience with sheer loudness and heavy dissonance, the Czars are renowned for eclectic and sophisticated compositions. Oh yeah, they're classy all right. They've arranged music for works like Tchaikovsky's “The Nutcracker Suite” and Mussorgsky's "A Night on Bald Mountain." Speaking of classical music and sophisticated things, the Czars are scheduled to premier their 1812 Overture at Woolridge Park July 4th, which just screams independence. Imagine fireworks bursting above lush soundscapes of glorified rock, honoring what we love most: freedom, hot dogs and beer. Sure to be a magical night indeed.

Thou shall not doubt tonight's show at Room 710 to be just as magical, though. A mix of edgy and zany, busting with angular rhythms, carnival-esque sound and tons of minor chords. A highly energetic and largely original sound, the band’s live show is a fist pumping dance party, oft times laced with covers of Iron Maiden and Roy Orbison. Braiding experimental artistry with novel arrangements, Invincible Czars are sure to keep the crowd fully charged throughout the evening. The line-up for Room 710's "early show" includes Stopchinski, Bee Vs. Moth and Limbs Are Absent.
