Show Preview and Giveaway: Joe Pug with Steve Earle at The Paramount

Steve Earle and Joe Pug at The Paramount
Friday, June 19
Paramount Theater (713 Congress Avenue)
Doors at 8pm, 28.50 to 31.50
[info] | [tickets]
You already know the great Steve Earle, who just released his tribute to Townes Van Zandt with Townes. Earle is performing at The Paramount this evening, and relative newbie Joe Pug will open.

As we mentioned last time he was here, "With quietly plucked guitar strains and fitting harmonica accents aiding his story-telling, Pug evokes Bob Dylan as he saunters through a series of poignant tales." Stand-out track from Nation of Heat “Hymn 101” is a soft folk song marked by bittersweet refrains like “I’ve come to test the timbre of my heart” while also including some cheeky clever verses like “The more I buy, the more I’m bought, and the more I’m bought, the less I cost.”

All in all, it should make for an introspective set of enduring, authentic Americana music. Click through the jump to win tickets!
