Austinist Presents: Grizzly Bear and Here We Go Magic

Austinist Presents: Grizzly Bear and Here We Go Magic
Tuesday, June 16
The Parish Room (214 East Sixth Street)
Doors at 8 p.m., not 7 p.m. as previously noted, show scheduled to start at 9 p.m., SOLD OUT
[info]
The doe-eyed foursome of Ed Droste, Daniel Rossen, Christopher Bear, and Chris Taylor, better known as Grizzly Bear, have been on nothing less than a carnivorous rampage (haha, get it, BEARS) ever since their sophomore album, 2006's Yellow House, slowly but surely worked its way onto a bevy of best-o'-year lists. And when the band made the ballsy move of debuting an as-yet-unheard "Two Weeks" on Letterman last July, the anticipation for a third album reached absolutely fawning proportions. Thankfully, the seemingly interminable wait was rewarded a few weeks ago with the pristine (if nearly unpronounceable) Veckatimest, a sparkling testament to meticulous songcraft that has garnered an almost comical amount of critical applause. So, needless to say, we here at Austinist are pleased to be presenting this show, which may in fact be the one of the last chances to catch the band at a place as small as 6th Street's lovely Parish Room.

Opening up the evening is no slouch act, either, as Luke Temple's wispy and delightfully repetitive Here We Go Magic project dropped its first LP, a fine self-titled affair, earlier this year. And just to prove how excited we are about this concert, we're offering up a pair of tickets to the sold out show—all you've got to do is fill out the form below and cross your fingers. Our winners will also receive posters created by Austin's own Matthew Genitempo of Public School.
