Austin Lyric Opera to Launch Summer Music Series at Cannoli Joe's


The ads say we can 'have it all' at Cannoli Joe's (4715 Highway 290 West), and now we can have it all with a serenade.


The Austin Lyric Opera is starting a summer music series at the sprawling Italian food buffet, featuring Mezzo soprano Liz Cass, selections from Hansel and Gretel, and a host of young performers for the Armstrong Community Music School Family Music Nite.

On June 11 dine with soprano Melinda Brou, performing selections from La Bohème, July 8 will be an evening of German songs with selections from Hansel and Gretel, and July 9 will feature Liz Cass performing selections from The Star and other French songs.

Austin Lyric Opera also has tickets available for the 2009 - 2010 season that includes Puccini’s La Bohème, Nov. 7, 11, 13, 2009, Chabrier’s operetta The Star, Jan. 30, Feb. 3, 5, 7, 2 010 and Humperdinck’s Hansel & Gretel, April 24, 28, 30, May 2, 2010.
