According to the Statesman, Kemp will renovate the 75,000 square-foot building and preserve many of its mid-century modern features, including the Seymour Fogel mural in the lobby. The Austin Business Journal indicates that the mural would be subject to a conservation easement that would preserve it in perpetuity.
The upper floors will stay office space, with Austin-based advertising agency McGarrah/Jessee as the lead tenant. Kemp is seeking restaurants, shops and nightlife venues for the ground floor retail space. Tenants are expected to move in next summer.
UPDATE: Nice photos in the Statesman.

yay! glad to hear this won't be another condo building
I love that building. It's one of the coolest buildings in downtown Austin, and I've always thought it was a shame to see it in it's current condition.
