Wit, charm, and an affecting voice aren’t the only things that
Langhorne Slim (a.k.a.
Sean Scolnick) has going for him. A penchant for addictive melody and the backing of talented duo
Jeff Ratner and
Malachi DeLorenzo (
The War Eagles) further advance Scolnick’s wistful lyricism. And on record, especially 2008’s self-titled release on
Kemado Records, Langhorne Slim’s brand of Americana is refined and accentuated by a variety of instruments like the tuba, accordion, and cello. Witnessing a spirited live performance by this hat wearing, guitar strumming troubadour puts a cherry on top of an already excellent offering, and we want to send you to the show for free! Enter your information in the form below for a chance to win two tickets to Wednesday’s show at The Parish. The evening of folk ditties kicks off with
Samantha Crain & The Midnight Shivers and
Sam Lowry & The Circumstance.
Expect to hear some new material at the show as Langhorne Slim has been spending time in the studio with Chris Funk (The Decemberists) and is plotting a September release for his second album for Kemado. The current tour wraps up in June but you can also catch the band at the George Wein's Folk Festival 50, Lollapalooza, and the Philadelphia Folk Festival.

Langhorne Slim really packs a punch but brings it back with a big fat hug!. "Diamonds and Gold" and "In The Midnight" have been a couple favored songs of mine. I am stoked that he is making a stop in Austin to unleash some great times upon us. Really excited to catch the new work!
