Animators, fine artists, and anyone who appreciates the human form in all of its nude glory will whip out their easels and lumps of charcoal on Saturday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. for the first Naked Lunch figure drawing session at the United States Art Authority. The event, sponsored by the Art Seen Alliance, is aimed at local animators and will feature partially disrobed models and quick poses (none longer than classic length of a seven-minute animated short).

"Figure drawing is extremely important to any artist, but especially important for animators," said local animator and Naked Lunch organizer Brad Graeber. "Animators need to be able to capture moods with a quick simple drawing. They need to show weight and volumes, and most of the time they aren't defining the style of what they are animating; for example they are working on a Disney show, or a company's video game."

Saturday's premier drawing session will feature local wide-eyed theater actress Kelli Bland. At last check Naked Lunch was nearly full. But with any luck more session will follow.
