Music News & Notes: Tori Amos, nelo, Americana & More

  • Yikes. Two Groove is reporting that the Thunder of the Gods festival was a huge stinker, thanks to organizer Will Pruett's poor planning (and perhaps fraud).
  • The Statesman has a list of Austin artists included in the Americana awards. Alejandro Escovedo, Band of Heathens, Belleville Outfit, Gurf Morlix, the Gourds, the Flatlanders and Reckless Kelly are all there, visit Austin 360 to see the complete list.
  • Since January 2008, the Live Music Task Force has made steps to create a music office for Austin. Despite plenty of stumbling blocks, last week saw the release of three options for the office, presented by City staff. For more information, visit the Live Music Task Force's area of the City's web site.
  • Tori Amos is coming to the Long Center on July 25. Update: Stay tuned for ticket sale information, which has changed since this post first became live.
  • Nelo will perform at Republic Square Park on May 27.
