The Mohawk (912 Red River)
[info]
Masaki Batoh formed Ghost in Japan in 1984. The early days consisted of improvised shows in temples, on the streets, or anywhere the band could set up shop and perform its unique compositions. Over the years, with the addition of new members and assorted instrumentation, they've developed into a truly inimitable organism. Currently, Batoh, Takuyuki Moriya, Kazua Ogino, Junzo Tateiwa, Michio Kurihara, and Taishi Takizawa comprise Ghost. They kicked off a month long U.S. tour last month in San Francisco, apparently in celebration of the change in leadership in the country! You can purchase numerous Ghost albums via the Drag City online store, including the retrospective collection Metamorphosis: Ghost Chronicles 1984-2004.
