Austin playwright Sharon Sparlin's latest science play, The E Word, explores faith, humanity, and that pesky science word that no textbook is supposed to mention. Sparlin’s cast of kindergartners (Lynn Burnor, Kirk German and Omid Ghorashi) take playground antics to a whole new level as they struggle to find and then reconcile the answers to the big questions. Join them for a juice box and a rousing game of Pin the Leg on the Fish! With puppetry by Connor Hopkins (Trouble Puppet Theater), sound by K. Eliot Haynes, lights by Stephen Pruitt, original music by Adam Sultan, and (we’re willing to bet) some smashing choreography by Sparlin herself, the show promises to be a rollicking good time—but be warned, the show is not appropriate for children under 12.
The E Word: A Playground Adaptation runs at The Off Center at 8pm, May 8-23. Performances May 8-10, 13-17, and 20-23.
