Travis County Dems Celebrating Obama's First 100 Days with Evening Bash [Tonight]
President Obama's been in office for exactly 100 days today, and his approval rating remains as high as ever at upwards of sixty percent. And, while he's still a ways off from solving that pesky economic crisis, bringing about world peace, or cloning unicorns, most folks find this a milestone worth celebrating.
Locally, the Travis County Democratic Party is hosting a big bash at the newly-renovated Speakeasy tonight, featuring live music from Frank Gomez, Leeann Atherton and DJ Mel. Plenty of state party leaders will be milling about, including the Texas Director of Obama's Organizing for America, Luke Hayes. Tickets are still available for a mere $15 if ordered in advance, or $20 at the door.
Meanwhile, if you haven't already seen it, the White House has a Flickr account where they've posted a stunning set of photos by official photog Pete Souza (including the one above). You can check them out here.
