Robert Rodriguez To Shoot Next Five Films in Austin

At yesterday's signing of HB 873, the bill providing incentives for the film and media industries in Texas, director Robert Rodriguez announced that he intends to shoot a slew of new movies at his Austin-based Troublemaker Studios.

First off will be Machete, based on the fake trailer that screened before his 2007 collaborative double-feature with Tarantino, Grindhouse, as well as the title character's appearances in Rodriguez's Spy Kids franchise. Also slated for production is a Predator sequel of sorts, dubbed Predators, for which Rodriguez has already penned a screenplay, a sci-fi flick titled Nerverackers, Sin City 2, and that live-action Jetsons movie that's been rumored for years already.
