Your Living Room Owners to Retire, Store May Stick Around

Some residents of South Austin recently received a letter from Your Living Room, the upscale furniture store on South Congress and Barton Springs, informing them that the store owners have decided to retire.

"Our store, Your Living Room, has been in business in Austin for over 14 years," reads the letter, signed The Management. "In the very near future we will be announcing the painful decision to retire from the business."

According to the note, the store's owners plan to unload as much of their inventory as possible, including items previously held at their off-site warehouse. Our initial assumption was that the store would cease to exist following the so-called "Retirement Relinquishment," but Austinist's twitter friend @bethstockwell posted that the store representative she spoke with over the phone claims "they're just getting new management."

For now, a massive private clearance sale is being held for recipients of the letter; a public announcement is expected to follow shortly.
