Since any type of red wine that's bolder than Chris Brown pleading not guilty needs an equally strong meal to accompany it, III Forks, which touts itself as offering some of the best steaks in town, will host the event; chef Jamie Gutierrez will provide delectables for noshing. You'll also be able to visit with winemakers David 'Merf' Merfield, Domenica Totty, Ed Auler, Karl Wente, Michael Eckstein, Michael Young, Mike Martini, Mike Westrick, Ralf Holdenreid , Richard Becker, Russell Smith, Serge Laville, and Tom Rinaldi, as well as the the owners of popular Hill Country wineries such as Becker Vineyards, Fall Creek Vineyards, Amavi Cellars, and many, many more.
Big Dog Reds takes place on April 18 at III Forks, and is unfortunately sold out as of this posting.
Austinist is a proud media sponsor of the 2009 Texas Hill Country Food and Wine Festival, which runs April 16-19 at venues throughout Austin.

I'm so sad this is sold out! You know if it is going to be hosted at III Forks, it will be a first class event. I hope you will be posting about it!
