Weekend Music Preview: Woven Bones Tour Kick-Off [Beerland / Friday]
After the Longhorns wrap up off-season workouts Sunday with the Texas Football Spring Jamboree, fans can take a piece of the action home.
The university is installing FieldTurf at DKR/Texas Memorial Stadium for the 2009 season, so 12-inch by 12-inch squares of the current field will be on sale for $20 each.
A pre-sale for the sod begins at noon, and the chunks will be passed out one hour after the end of the game. The sod is only available for purchase on Sunday, and all sales are final. Proceeds go directly toward paying for the new turf.
Sunday's festivities begin at noon with Fan Fest, featuring games and events for children, with the game beginning at 2:30 pm. Admission for all events is free.
