2009 Texas Medal of Arts [Giveaway]

The pièce de résistance of the Texas Cultural Trust, a statewide arts nonprofit (which runs StrataTX), the biannual Texas Medal of Arts Awards seek to recognize the artists, entertainers, and art patrons who've contributed the most, in whatever fashion, to the state's creative capital.

Honorees for 2009 include former First Lady Laura W. Bush for her work with the Texas Book Festival and the President’s Committee on the Arts in Humanities, legendary artist Robert Rauschenberg, the visionaries over at Lake|Flato Architects, pianist James Dick, filmmaker Robert Rodriguez, arts patron Edith O’Donnell, and KLRU-TV's Austin City Limits program.

This year's gala takes place on Tuesday, April 7th at the The Long Center for the Performing Arts, and includes a post-dinner dessert reception. Tickets, $75, can be purchased online, or for your chance to go for free, enter our contest after the jump.

For the full list of honorees and schedule, check out the Texas Medal of Arts website.

Congrats to our winner!

I think whoever designed the poster should get a medal. Very nice.
