ACL Rumor Mill Starts Up: GLO, DMB, Beastie Boys All in the Running

With Austin still sleeping off its collective SXSW hangover, the internet rumor mills have already fired up in anticipation of this fall's Austin City Limits Music Festival. Thus far, serious headliner speculation includes Ghostland Observatory, Dave Matthews Band, Beastie Boys, and Pearl Jam. We checked with an anonymous inside source at festival producer C3 Presents, who mischievously responded, "That would certainly be a pretty killer start to the lineup, wouldn't it?"

ACL Fest is October 2-4, 2009.

jeez. Ghost Land is great and all - or were a few years ago when they were hot - even if you overlook the fact that they are just a Rapture Reboot (or insert any other electroclash band here) - and it's all good especially with their stage presence.

BUT to HEADLINE ACL - not just no, but HELLLL no...not nearly commanding or global enough. NEXT PLEASE

I'll be just as cryptic as that official you mentioned, but I WILL say that I've got some pretty credible sources as well, and if they're correct, one of those bands mentioned is coming. I can't say which, but let that little piece of information get your juices flowing, eh?

Obviously DMB, they have a tour date in Tulsa that Friday of ACL, plus I have my sources too.....
