SxSW Film Preview: A Film with Me in It
It’s hard to explain death. Especially when it happens under odd circumstances. But there’s always a way out of it—you just have to tell a good story. And you have to tell it well.
If you’re one of those people who think Irish people are great just because of their cute accents, this movie is for you. But if you liked Shallow Grave before you knew who Ewan MacGregor was or that Danny Boyle was the director of Slumdog Millionaire well, this movie is also your cup of tea. Seriously.
The plot of A Film With Me In It centers on a struggling actor who finds himself surrounded by people that are dying in suspicious ways; ways that aren’t easily explained as simple coincidences. As he and his friend try to figure out the best way to explain their presence at all these random deaths (that look like murders), things get quite complicated.
As if the accents weren’t enough, the actors in this film look to be more than up to the task of making murder funny. A black comedy in every sense of the word, this looks like something we don’t want to miss. The fact that the Alamo, where it is sceening, serves beer makes it even more appealing well, that's the way way it should be, anyway, innit?
A Film with Me in It premieres Sunday, March 15th, at 11:59PM at the Alamo Ritz !. It may be late screening, but it looks worth it.To get more informatin and see other screening times, hit up the SxSW 2009 Film Guide.
