  • Home Slice Pizza’s Music by the Slice rolls on this year on its back patio at 1415 S. Congress Ave (78704). Thursday’s highlights include The Spinto Band and Dead Confederate, Von Bondies and Say Hi finish up Friday, and The Rosebuds, Grandaddy’s Jason Lytle, and The Uglysuit are some of the marquee names on Saturday.   • Austin Sound’s day show is all set for the 20th at Creekside Lounge (presented in conjunction with KOOP 91.7 FM’s Now Playing Austin). Download Sound Advice Vol. III: Starry Eyes here and head down to Creekside on Friday to check out the plethora of exciting talent on two stages including Pop Unknown, BASIC, Oh No Oh My, Black Before Red, Corto Maltese, Lemurs, Loxsly, The Lovely Sparrows, Tom Brosseau, Dana Falconberry, and Peter & The Wolf.

  • Looking for more local flavor? Lucy The Poodle Productions’ launch party for its brand new LUCY Magazine takes place this Friday at Stubb’s. Entertainment comes in the form of music from Shapes Have Fangs, The Bubbles, and more, and film screenings from Scott Conn, Clarissa Ysel, and Lauren LaPage. RSVP here for Learning SecretsTotally Badical bash (on the 20th at Club Primos). One of our favorite events in town, Gadjo Disko! Eastern Bloc Party has a special “SXGD” planned for the 21st at The Cock Pit from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Cover is $10 if you “dress to transgress” and $13 if you “come as you are.”

  • Hank Sinatra’s (2407 Riverside Farms Rd., 78741) is the location for +1’s House Party on Saturday. The event is free, starts at noon, and the list of performers is as follows: The Morning Benders, Illinois, Kenan Bell, Eulogies, The Postelles, Trainwreck Riders, and Let’s Wrestle.

  • The Mohawk (Patio) hosts SXSW SOUL’s official showcase on the 18th, shortly after our day show. The line-up is as follows: Brett Koshkin, NeckBone, Kendra Ross, Wayne, Mojoe, Maya Azucena, and Bavu Blakes & The Extra Plairs. On the 20th, head over to Lucky Lounge from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the “Hip Hop Howl Mixtape Showcase” featuring DJ Komson, DJ Melo X, Miz Metro, Crosby, ZEALE, and much, much more.

  • Rubydog Music brings us The Dog & Pony Show at Opal Divine’s Freehouse on the 19th (Free). Willem Maker kicks things at noon and will be followed by Austin Collins & The Rainbirds, Twilight Hotel, Dawes, The Henry Clay People, Vetiver, and The Savage Trip before The Silos wrap things up with a performance starting at 7 p.m.

  • Prefer your live music with a glass of wine? Head over to South X Uncorked at Uncorked Tasting Room & Wine Bar (900 E. 7th St., 78702) and enjoy sets by Eric Hisaw, Johnny Goudie, Twilight Hotel, Penny Jo Pullus, Tom Gillam, among others, with the vino of your choice. The music starts at noon.

  • We’re quite intrigued by this Splash By Splashwest event scheduled for Saturday the 21st but with no information whatsoever. Sign up for a text that will (eventually) disclose the location and time -- RSVP (21+).
