Hudson's on the Bend Launches The Mighty Cone on S. Congress [All Our Dreams Are Coming True]

Anyone who knows us or has spent any time with us during the sweaty-dusty-dance fest that is Austin City Limits Fest weekend knows that the first order of business when we enter Zilker Park on Friday is to procure a Hot and Crunchy Chicken Cone. Seriously. We make a bee-line for the Hudson's on the Bend vendor booth and promptly stuff ourselves silly with the almond, sesame seed, corn flake, chili flake and sugar battered goodness. It is tradition. A tradition that we wish were available every day of the year.

As if the heavens heard our cry, we got word today that tomorrow, March 14th, Hudson's will officially open The Mighty Cone, a permanent location on South Congress, from which they will peddle their tortilla wrapped wonders. The even better news is that not only will they offer their standard, chicken, shrimp and avocado varieties, but they will also be cookin' up Venison Dogs in a cone, Sliders in a cone, Veggie Sliders in a cone, Guajillo Chile dusted fries, Turtle Pie in a cone, funnel cake (!!!!!!), handmade milkshakes (in a cone? we'll find out soon enough!) and an assortment of tasty beverages to wash all your coney snacks down.

Prices range from $1.90 for smaller items to $8.45 for the more, um, elaborate cones, but with everything under $10 we are afraid that, after rent, a significant portion of our paychecks will be going straight to our belly. Full of meat and gourmet mango-jalapeno coleslaw and ancho chile aioli, we will roll ourselves back home knowing that the universe is, truly, a benevolent being.

The Mighty Cone will be open Tuesday-Thursday, 11am-9pm, Friday-Saturday from 11am-11pm and Sundays 11am-7pm. They are located in the parking lot next to Hey, Cupcake!

Pasketti - sorry! It doesn't actually have a "real" address, but it is in the 1600 block of South Congress, 78704. It is on the east side of the block. Hopefully you can find it, because they are worth the search!

    Address?

Yeah, I could just google "Hey Cupcake", but if you're going to recommend something, it's generally good form to put up a location.
