Lady Bird Lake Cleanup Makes For a Nice Break from SXSW

The Keep Austin Beautiful initiative is organizing a massive community effort to clean up Lady Bird Lake next Saturday (during SXSW Music), with sponsorship by Patagonia Austin (who sparked the idea), REI, Whole Earth Provisions, Whole Foods and St. Bernards Sport's.

The cleanup effort, running from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., will be geared towards removing litter that's gradually built up along the trail. All gloves, bags, trash grabbers and assorted equipment will be provided.
