This 9th edition marks a special occasion in the history of Austinist Indieroke -- going forward, we’ll be getting you warmed up for your turn on the mic by allowing a band to deliver live tunes at 9 p.m; the Indieroke shenanigans will follow immediately at 9:45 p.m. Talented local outfit (and Local Music Is Sexy alumni) The Eastern Sea will do the honors for the first such combination of fun and frolic. The band turned in a typically impressive set recently at Red Eyed Fly -- check out the clip of “The Night” from that show via Roxwel. You can watch our recent interview with the band here. We’ll try our level best to convince the band members to take a turn at Indieroke as well!
So before you line up for Rachael Ray’s Feedback event or Playboy’s Rock The Rabbit 2009 party, head down to the 'hawk this Saturday and turn in your best rendition of Velvet Underground’s “Femme Fatale” or TV on the Radio’s “Dancing Choose,” just two of the new additions to our collection.
