Secret Metallica Performance at SXSW? [Rumor Mill]
The Chronicle's Austin Powell casually leaked what amounts to an unofficial confirmation that Metallica—or members of the band—may show up during SXSW for an unannounced performance at Stubb's.
"There is going to be a Guitar Hero event at South by Southwest," said SXSW's Brent Grulke in the column. "Some of Metallica's band members may make an appearance at the event."
While it's unclear whether this means that they're still working out the scheduling or that SXSW is playing coy (we're guessing 50/50), Powell points out that the band has every reason to attend with the forthcoming releases of their collected works in digital form and Guitar Hero: Metallica.
