Hot Freaks, Birds Barbershop announce SXSW Day Show(s) Line-up

Hot Freaks has released the details of its SXSW day shows! On Friday the 20th, Club de Ville hosts the Insound Stage with performances by Obits (12:30 p.m.), Handsome Furs (1:30 p.m.), American Analog Set (2:30 p.m.), The Thermals (3:30 p.m.), and The Hold Steady (4:30 p.m.). AmAnSet will be performing its classic The Golden Band record in its entirety!


Meanwhile, outside on The Mohawk’s patio, you can enjoy a stellar line-up as well -- The Wrens (Noon), Bishop Allen (1 p.m. / watch our interview with Bishop Allen during Fun Fest 2008 here), The Henry Clay (2 p.m.), Port O’Brien (3 p.m.), The Rosebuds (4 p.m.), and Delta Spirit (5 p.m.). If that isn’t enough, head inside at the 'hawk for sets by The Rural Alberta Advantage (12:30 p.m.), We Have Band (1:30 p.m.), These United States (2:30 p.m.), Alela Diane (3:30 p.m.), and Richard Swift (4:30 p.m.).

Much, much more quality music on Saturday too courtesy of Hot Freaks -- Club de Ville’s line-up consists of Real Estate (12:30 p.m.), Girls (1:30 p.m.), The Grates (2:30 p.m.), Sebastien Grainger & The Mountains (3:30 p.m.), and Jeremy Jay (4:30 p.m.).

The Mohawk (patio) has a long list of veritable talent including local up-and-comers Harlem at noon, followed by Jason Lytle (Grandaddy), Vivian Girls, and Viva Voce. The hilarious New York City outfit Peelander-Z takes the stage at 4 p.m. before Scottish pop band Camera Obscura finishes off the event at 5 p.m. On the inside, the schedule is as follows: Shilpa Ray and Her Happy Hookers (12:30 p.m.), Roadside Graves (1:30 p.m.), Mason Proper (2:30 p.m.), Lemondade (3:30 p.m.), and Amazing Baby (4:30 p.m.).

Birds Barbership is celebrating the opening of its new east side location with a grand opening party called “Space Camp” on Thursday the 19th. King Khan & the Shrines and N.A.S.A. are just two of the performers -- check out the full line-up via the flyer to your left.
