Bollywood Bash 6 @ The Mohawk Tonight!

The 6th Annual Bollywood Bash
Friday, February 27
The Mohawk (912 Red River)
$10 | 18+ | 9 p.m. - 2 a.m.

The (almost) annual Bollywood Bash has condensed the larger than life world of Mumbai’s film industry for Austin natives since 2002. The event celebrates Hindi movies and its colorful dance, clothing, and culture, and benefits SAHELI (“friend” in Hindi), an organization devoted to helping Asian families with domestic issues.

Two years after taking over The Peacock, Bollywood Bash finds a new home at The Mohawk tonight for its sixth installment. Expect to hear beats from all over the world courtesy of DJ Aleem and come dressed as your favorite Bollywood star to enter the costume contest! We recommend combing the internet for clips of legends like Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Nargis, and Dharmendra, or watching these videos for ideas and inspiration. The cleverly named Flying Paneer Sisters supply the cheese in the form of the typically hilarious Bollywood dance routines. If Slumdog Millionaire was your first real taste of India, head down to The Mohawk this evening and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the country’s biggest passion (besides cricket). As the press release states, “You won’t be sari!”
