Emo's Tonight: Ringo Deathstarr (Outside) & Built by Snow (Inside)

Ringo Deathstarr kicks off its pre-SXSW tour this Wednesday at Emo’s (Outside) -- the shoegaze stalwarts travel to Virginia after tonight’s gig and continue on to New York for a couple of dates before heading south to Georgia on March 14th. They band will be back in town after that for a few unofficial SXSW shows, including the ominously named South by South DEATH at Beerland on the 17th.

Fellow local noise brokers Cry Blood Apache are also on the bill at tonight’s outside show at Emo’s -- the trio has initiated a Tuesday night residency at Club 1808 where they plan on testing out new material for a potential CD release during SXSW. Following the festival, the band (along with Ringo Deathstarr) will perform at the Westheimer Block Party in Houston on March 28th (Tickets).

Meanwhile, on the inside stage this evening, Built By Snow offers up its usual avalanche of synth-pop ditties. Under The Radar featured “Something in 3D” by the band in its CD sampler that accompanies the reputable magazine’s Winter 2009 print edition. In addition to that useful accolade, Built By Snow has garnered an interesting, additional gig this Wednesday -- the band will perform at Beauty Bar at 5:30 p.m. for an Austin360.com TV commercial -- the first 100 fans (21+) in line will be treated to a special set. Get down there early for a shot at a cameo in the advertisement! Check out our recent interview with Built By Snow at Arcade UFO after the jump.
