Weekend Music Preview: Sound Benefit @ Austin Moose Lodge #1735
Saturday, February 14
Austin Moose Lodge (2103 E.M. Franklin)
2 p.m. | $8 before 8 p.m.; $14 after
[info]
Enjoy all the music you can handle for a measly $8 donation if you make it down before 8 p.m. -- the event kicks off at 2 p.m. and the cover charge increases to $14 after 8 p.m -- but the admission price includes two drink tickets. So don’t hold back on the love this Valentine’s Day -- the money obtained at Saturday’s Sound Benefit goes towards a new sound system for the Moose Lodge and its future events to assist the needy. Besides the music, Ararat and JR’s BBQ will be on hand with delicious treats no doubt, and free stuff courtesy of Monofonus Press, art displays, and the promise of a “kissing booth” (oh so appropriate on Valentine’s Day) should make this a pleasant outing for one and all.
The schedule of music is as follows:
Front: No Mas Bodas, Ichi Ni San Shi, Kids Club, and Richard Gear
Back: Darling New Neighbors, Salesman, over THE hill, monuments, The Fever Dreams, and BASIC
Outside: The Reliques, BLUESQUEEZEBOX, Danny Malone, Ralph White, and Shad Blair
Concert Alert: Tickets for Crystal Castles on April 13th go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. and tickets for Franz Ferdinand on April 25th are on sale as of this morning -- get ‘em via GetTix.Net). Both shows are scheduled to take place at La Zona Rosa.
