Fire at West Campus Apartment Complex

Around lunchtime, many people spotted smoke coming up from the West Campus area. The photo at the left was the view from Whitis and Dean Keeton.

The smoke rose from the Sandpiper Apartment Complex near 28th and Rio Grande, which caught fire; four apartments were damaged, displacing eleven students (but no one was hurt). The complex is still being checked by AFD, so other residents are waiting to be allowed back into their homes. [KEYE]

So, that was my apartment in flames...or rather, the wall between my bedroom and my neighbors. You can see act shell-shocked all over the videos from yesterday's news.

I loved the Sandpiper, it was a beautiful place to live. RIP #305

If anyone knows of a cheap 2 bed/2 bath near campus...I'm looking.
