Homeslice and Co-Lab Announce SXSW Parties

It seems like people start talking about SXSW earlier every year, doesn’t it? Well, maybe that’s just because talk of free shows, possibly free booze and tons of interesting bands is just plain interesting. To that end, both Homeslice Pizza and the Co-Lab Artspace have announced limited details about the day parties they’re planning on throwing during March.

Homeslice, the tasty South Congress pizzeria, is once again presenting their Music by the Slice three-day party from the 19th to the 21st. The performances will take place on the back patio, and as of yet fifteen bands have been announced, including the much buzzed about Von Bondies and the raucously entertaining Port O’Brien. Other bands playing the showcase include: Deer Tick, The Uglysuit, Marching Band, Von Iva, Illinois, Animal Farm, Kenan Bell, Fences, The Rural Albert Advantage, Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band, Jeremy Messersmith, We Were Promised Jet Packs, and Alberta Cross. The party is free and requires no RSVP.

Co-Lab, a “new media project space” out in East Austin is also planning a round of day parties, from March 15th to the 21st. The space is planning to host their bands within a huge tent, and also promise free beverages. The Co-Lab day parties are RSVP only, though the specific details on how to do so have not yet been announced. So far, only the show on the 21st has a set schedule, and includes quite a few local acts. Follow the jump for their current lineup.
