So her friends with Latinas Unidas Por El Arte (LUPE Arte), and Clown Dog Bikes are throwing a benefit featuring Kitty Kitty Bang Bang, Brownout, Ruby Rico, Woodgrain, DJ Chorizo Funk, and RAD, in Christie’s name to help ease the financial burden. As for Christie, she simply says “I feel as though I keep waking up from the same nightmare, it only gets worse instead of better. I am just looking for some comfort, friendship, and hope. I want to share what information I've learned through this experience and try to learn as much as I can in order to help others fighting this disease.”

Pecan Street Project Gets $10.4 Million Stimulus Grant

Wow, I am so sad to hear this news about Christie passing. I was a friend of hers growing up in Kerrville. I lost touch with her aftrer high school. I am deeply saddened to hear about this. I will forever remember her laugh and beautiful smile. It doesn't suprise me at all to read that her last wishes were to help others with the same sickness. I will hold her near to my heart.
