Austin's Open Labs Previews New Products @ The NAAM Show

Open Labs, a young Austin start-up, is taking its products to The 2009 NAMM Show in California. Starting today, the company that threw the Beats 'N Treats Music Festival last year will be debuting its new offerings at the conference; Co-Founder and Chairman Victor Wong will be on hand to preview six innovative products. Open Labs builds a variety of electronic media work stations, keyboards and other tools for audio creation and production.

Open Labs will also air the event live via its webcast channel.

I'm a fan of Open Labs, but have to question the newsworthiness of this press release the Austinist has basically photocopied. The essence of the above two paragraphs is that Victor Wong bought a booth at NAAM 2009. Not the first time for Open Labs. Should we expect that every Austin start-up that buys boothspace at a tradeshow will get a mention on the Austinist?

Seth

Seth,
You're right, it does read like a straight press release, but we consider it worth mentioning mostly because it's a local startup (with music-related products) that will have a free webcast. I made the choice to post it because I believe there might be people in our reading audience who would be interested in watching the webcast.

Thanks for your comments.
