It’s such a pity that free week has come to an end and Red River is no longer a fantasy land where music and fun are free and your only expenses are a $2 High Life and a slice of pizza at the end of the night to help soak it all up. But, the street is not totally devoid of fun. Beerland has a show tonight that is more than worth your buck. Austin’s gritty, fun psych-rockers The Golden Boys are teaming up with The Uptown Bums and The Wax Museums, both from Denton.

It’s going to be a night of unpolished and excitable rock and roll mayhem. The Golden Boys are sure to bring music that’s intense, sometimes bluesy, psych-rock with a little saxophone, giving them a few extra points for style. The Uptown Bums have an energetic garage-pop sound backed up with some well-rounded organ. Then, The Wax Museums are there to ratchet things up with short, fuzzy, frantic punk. Opening the show tonight are The Man Stamps. Hey, did you notice all the bands playing start with ‘The’?
