Church of the Friendly Ghost presents: Chrome Genie, more

Erring on the experimental this evening, The Church of the Friendly Ghost has put together a quite remarkable lineup of experimental artists that range from noise lovers to the more traditionally psychedelic.

The star of the show is improvisational musician Chrome Genie from San Francisco, who will be performing a piece entitled "Google Warming and Googlization in the Isolation Modem Century." From the artist himself: "Sounds of extinct electronics packed away in cardboard coffins and vaudeville percussion will be filtered through modern interpretation devices and mixed with unique synthi-whiplash tones in order bring forth a nostalgic windowpane." Should be interesting!

Also performing is the noise artist Venison Whirled, and the eyebrow-raising How I Quit Crack, a one-woman extravaganza of guitar, synthesizer and drum machines. You know the bill has got to be out there when the groovy psych of Baby Robots seems conventional by comparison.

Door at 8pm
$5 at the door, BYOB
Salvage Vanguard Theater, 2803 Manor Rd.
